This mat really does appear to heal when cut. Just for grins, I made a cut with an X-acto knife some where in the border. Now I can’t find where I made the cut.
The big plus is that you don’t destroy your work bench when making cuts.
The only negative (And the reason for only 4-Stars) is that I wish that the mat was a little larger like 18″ x 24″ instead of 12″ x 18″
It’s a great product if you find yourself slicing up your work area when cutting items with your X-Acto knife.

Recently I’ve been using a lot of razors, x zacto knives, utility knives….. cutting a lot of Duct tape. I was using cutting boards that i had…’plastic, wood, glass’. Not only did they dull my knives, but more importantly, they didn’t cut straight! This product was a blessing, can’t ever imagine going back. Now own two

This mat is a good value and actually self-heals. It’s great if you have a lot or a little cutting to do. It is a great size, in that you don’t have to worry about cutting off the edge. The grid is a great feature for precision cutting. I recommend this product to artists and crafters.
